Skilled Migration Visas

There are a number of subclasses here but most require :

• The applicant to have a trades or professional background
• An occupation that is on the Australian Immigration Department’s Skilled Occupations List (as of July 1, 2010, reduced from some 400 occupations to 181)
• and that is accepted by the relevant Australian assessing body
• Recent experience in the nominated occupation
• Good English
• Be less than 45 years old
• Pass a points test ( having relatives in Australia can help, or you may be able to be sponsored by one of Australian state governments who have their own list of occupations).
