Under Australian Migration Law, may applicants who have their visa applications refused or cancelled by the Australian Government will be entitled to have the decision reviewed by an independent body like the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT). A body like the MRT must consider afresh whether the original visa refusal or cancellation decision was correct. The MRT is has no connection with the Immigration Department and will give an applicant whose visa was refused the ooprtunity to appear before it either in person or by video link in order to present an argument against the refusal.
